Photography Session Information

Family, Portrait & Couples

Locations:

As a photographer who focuses mainly on Rural Australian people and subjects, I try to shoot in locations that reflect this. This means, that if you need me to source a location for our shoot, I will usually try to find a farm or area near you that will suit my style of Photography (I am always open to hearing your ideas though, of course!).

I generally don’t shoot in urban areas, fancy gardens or locations with a lot of other people or buildings nearby. If this is the style of photo you want, it might be best to find another Photographer.

Indoor Photoshoots:

I also offer an option of shooting indoor from the comfort of the clients home, or house of their choosing. This is ideal in the cooler months, or as an alternative if rain is forecast for the day of the shoot.

What do we wear?

Something nice!! This is my number one rule for my clients. You will most likely have these photos for the rest of your lives to look back on, and they may even end up hanging in your house, so think Neat Casual/ Semi Formal (you can NEVER be to overdressed!). Avoid shirts with large writing and images on them.

If you are a country couple, I 100% encourage you to pull out your best country attire (think R.M Williams shirts, Ariat Boots, Drizabone Coats and Akubra hats etc).

What time is our shoot?

Outdoor shoots are always at sunset! I only ever shoot in the golden hour, so feel free to bring the esky along and soak in the sunshine while your liver soaks in a few beers to cap the day off.

Indoor shoots can be done at any time during the day.

Can we bring our Pets?

Ummm…Absolutely!

I don’t care if you’ve got a pet Kelpie or a pet Hamster, our four legged mates are part of the family too and they don’t have to miss out on the photoshoot!

Vehicles at shoots:

If you’re having your shoot done on your farm or rural property, feel free to pull the old tractor, new header, the LandCruisers or motorbike out of the shed for a bit of fun! Whatever farm vehicle or prop you can think of to include in your photos, feel free to include them!

Underwater/Beach Shoots:

Although it’s tough to beat a photoshoot on a farm or in the scrub, a good old fashioned Australian beach is also a favourite place of mine to shoot at. These photoshoots can be a lot of fun (especially a couples shoot) and I definitely encourage you to consider this as an option if you live near the coast!  I have equipment that allows me to use my camera in the water, so I love to get in the sand and water with my clients and get involved in the fun!

If you’re interested in a beach shoot, be prepared to get soaking wet and end up with sand in your…hair – it’s going to be inevitable, so bring a towel!  For the Girls, I recommend wearing a dress made of a light material that can float in the water, and for the Guys, wear a plain white collared shirt and dark trousers.

Aerial Photography:

I also have a drone I can bring along to your photoshoot on request (the shoot may go slightly longer is all). This can be used to gain a whole other perspective of the shoot, and I definitely encourage its use (especially at beach shoots or if we are shooting near cliffs/mountains).
